W.A. Production Orchid Chorus Plugin Is Free for a Limited Time

W.A. Production’s Orchid chorus plugin is currently available as a free download for a limited time via VST Alarm. The plugin normally sells for $39.90, so this one is clearly aimed at anyone who likes grabbing bigger commercial effects while the price drops to zero.

A Chorus Plugin That Goes Well Beyond Basic Thickening

Orchid is pitched as a chorus effect inspired by the wet, wide studio sound of the 1980s. That alone is not unusual, but the plugin goes further than a standard chorus by using four-way chorus processing instead of the usual doubled signal approach.

The result should be a thicker and more exaggerated effect, especially on synths, basses, guitars, vocals, and drums. If lighter chorus plugins can sometimes feel a bit polite, Orchid seems built for the opposite approach.

    More Than Speed and Depth

The usual Speed and Depth controls are here, along with Feedback and Spread for adjusting the intensity and stereo image. From there, Orchid opens up into a broader effects processor with Shimmer, Space, Delay, and Filter controls.

Shimmer adds harmonics up to two octaves above the source, which should help brighten the signal and add a bit of sparkle. Space adds reverb to each chorus module, while Delay can push the processed signal back by up to 100 ms to create more separation from the dry sound.

The filter section rounds things out with high-pass and low-pass controls, which is a practical addition if you only want the chorus to affect certain parts of the spectrum.

    Parallel Control, Metering, and Presets

Orchid also includes a central Mix control for blending the effect in parallel, plus a Mute Source option for monitoring only the processed signal. That is always useful on a plugin like this, especially when the effect can get pretty dense.

There is also live visual feedback in the center of the interface, along with click-free bypass for easier A/B checking. On top of that, W.A. Production includes a good selection of presets for guitars, bass, drums, synths, vocals, and more extreme special effects.

    • Usually priced at $39.90

    Plugin Overview

Orchid looks like a good fit for anyone after chorus, with a bit more attitude than usual. It can obviously handle classic widening and thickening, but the extra controls suggest it gets more interesting once you start pushing it into shimmer-heavy, phasey, and more obviously processed territory.

QuietFormat Releases Two Free Modulation Plugins (macOS & Windows)

QuietFormat has released two free modulation plugins: Auralis Chorus and Auralis Multi Mod. Both are lightweight, well-designed tools that cover classic modulation effects without getting in your way. If you’re looking for subtle movement or more expressive texture in your tracks, these are worth grabbing.

    Auralis Chorus

Auralis Chorus is a clean, straightforward chorus plugin with two modes that can be used individually or blended. Chorus 1 leans smooth and warm, giving you that familiar analog-style depth. Chorus 2 is brighter and more stereo-focused, great for opening up guitars, keys, or vocals.

You can use them on their own or together with a single switch that mixes them at a 50/50 balance. There’s also a simple dry/wet mix knob to control how much effect you’re adding. No menu diving, just a few intuitive controls and a resizable interface that plays nice in any DAW.

    Auralis Multi Mod

Auralis Multi Mod combines three familiar effects, Vibrato, Auto Pan, and Tremolo, into one plugin. Each section has its own depth and rate controls, and Tremolo can sync to your DAW tempo for rhythmic modulation. It’s designed to be simple but flexible, making it easy to add movement without reaching for separate plugins.

    • Vibrato: Pitch modulation for vintage wobble or subtle detuning
    • Auto Pan: Stereo motion with control over speed and intensity
    • Tremolo: Volume modulation with tempo sync for rhythmic chops

There’s no need to overthink things here; the layout is intuitive, and it loads quickly without taking up much screen space.

    Free Download

Both Auralis Chorus and Auralis Multi Mod are available as free downloads from the QuietFormat website.

remaincalm Releases Gloss: Free Tiny Enhancer Plugin

remaincalm has released Gloss free tiny enhancer plugin, a tool designed to add texture, space, and retro charm to your productions. Adapted from their commercial plugin Gossamer, Gloss features vintage-inspired chorus and reverb effects optimized for synths, acoustic instruments, and vocals.

    Retro Chorus and Atmospheric Reverb

These two chorus styles can be blended via crossfade to create a range of lush modulation textures, from subtle width to gritty analog depth.

The built-in one-knob reverb is tailored for synth pads and ambient elements. It morphs smoothly from a medium room to a large chorused cathedral, giving your sound instant spatial depth with minimal effort.

    Simple Yet Powerful Interface

Gloss features a user-friendly interface that makes all parameters immediately accessible. Control ranges are tuned for musicality and usability, ensuring both subtle enhancements and extreme creative effects are easily dialled in.

A comprehensive set of presets is included to jumpstart your creativity.

    Features

    • Dual vintage chorus models with crossfade control
    • One-knob synth-optimized reverb
    • Fully visible controls on a clean interface

Lunacy Audio Releases Haze Free Chorus & Phaser Plugin

Lunacy Audio has released Haze, a free multi-effect plugin for PC and Mac users (VST, AU, AAX). Combining chorus, phasing, and rich algorithmic reverbs with spectral dispersion, Haze transforms any sound into a shimmering, ambient layer.

Haze is designed to add depth and movement, whether you’re crafting subtle stereo shifts or expansive, resonant textures. With intuitive controls and a smooth interface, the plugin invites exploration across ambient, electronic, cinematic, and experimental genres.

    Lush Reverb and Spectral Motion

The reverb section offers three core parameters: Decay controls how long the tail lingers, Density affects the spatial texture, and Spread adjusts stereo width and smoothness. These tools let you move between tight reflections and expansive soundscapes with ease.

Additional controls shape the overall character. Scale adjusts size and tone, while Motion adds evolving modulation and delay for extra movement and harmonic color. A Smear filter can be engaged for a dense, dreamy layer. Its Frequency and Q parameters let you fine-tune its presence and resonance.
